M. Miller Died Sod denly el Home the Valley. Calistogian, Dec. 22. Mr.

Matilda Miller, widow of the late Paul Miller, and an old resident of this county, died last Friday evening at the home of her son, H. B. Miller, on Cedar street. While she had been in poor health and really an invalid for some time, her death at the time it took place was unexpected. Her son had just returned from his days labor when the mother complained of not.

feeling well and not being able to see as she should, apparently not recognizing those about her. He picked her up and laid her on a bed and while so doing she expired in arms. Heart disease and perhaps a stroke of paralysis, of which she had an attack some time ago, is given as the cause of death. Mrs. Miller was aged 73 years, 10 months 2 days, and was a native of Ohio.

She came to this State with her husband in 1862, and to Napa county in 1874, and to their old home place at Bate station in 1884, where she resided until the last few years. She was a thorough-! good woman, charitable and knew her. She is survived by two sons, Paul R. and Harry B. Mi'ler.

The funeral was held from the Church on Monday. Rev. Jas. Mitchell of St. 'Helena officiating, and was largely attended.
