He married in 1927 and moved to California in 1935, residing first in Terra Bella and later in Porterville. Mr. Leckband retired in 1970 as a building inspector and moved to Napa at that time. He was a member of St. Johns Lutheran Church and was involved in Lutheran Care for the Aging.

Mr. Leckband is survived by two daughters, Joyce Christiansen of Pinole and Mary Dorr of San Leandro; four grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren. Friends are invited to attend the memorial service at 1 p.m. Thursday at St. Johns Lutheran Church, 3521 Linda Vista Napa, with Dr.

Jack A. Geistlinger and the Rev. Alan Sommer officiating. Private interment will be at Tulocay Cemetery. Friends may call at Richard Pierce Funeral Service, 1660 Silverado Trail, from 6 to 8 p.m.

Louis, Mo. 63139-2983. Clarence Ashford SONOMA Napa resident Clarence Ashford, 82, died Saturday in Sonoma after a brief illness. A native of Malaga, N.M., Mr. Ashford was bom on July 25, 1909, to George and Mary Jane (James) Ashford.

He grew up in Clifton and Duncan, Ariz. He moved to Phoenix and had a plumbing business. He worked at Mare Island Naval Shipyard until 1969 when he returned to Arizona to help his parents. Mr. Ashford returned to Napa in October of 1983 and went to work for Bell Products until 1989 when he retired.

He was a former member of the Elks in Clifton, and the Moose Lodge in Napa and Vallejo. He was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Napa Ward. Mr. Ashford is survived by his wife, Madeline of Napa; three sons, Donald of Mesa, Virgil of Avondale, and Duane of San Ramon, and three daughters, Myrtle Daniels Myrtle L. Daniels, 88, died Friday at a local convalescent hospital after a long illness.

Mrs. Daniels was bom to Hermey and Elcy Van Schoick on Oct. 14, 1902, in Union City, Mich. She was raised on a farm in Union City. Mrs.

Daniels lived and worked on a farm all of her adult life. She had been a resident of Napa for 10 years, moving here in 1981 to be near her family. Mrs. Daniels is survived by her daughter, Dana June Wilson of Napa; three grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. Her husband, Eugene, passed away in 1971.

A private family memorial will be held. Inurnment was at Tulocay Cemetery under the direction of Claffey and Rota Funeral Home. She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Napa.
